"The gym is slowly making progress. Three sides are up with the steel siding and some of the roof is in place. They will finish the roof then the front will go on with windows. Next week they may begin to brick 4 feet 8 inches up from the foundation and then Efice board and Cement smear like Stucco on top of the steel siding. Doors are hung and the sprinkler system line and fire hydrant are in place."

July 24 Update
More progress to show with this posting. Pastor Parrish shared recently in an email as he continues to monitor the progress and keep a close eye on the project...

A Walk Around
The metal skeleton for the gym is just about finished and they will begin either the roof or insulating I imagine. The Construction company has about 5 men working this morning.
We dodged a bullet yesterday we trust. Duke power does not have 3 phase power available at our location. It is some distance to where they have it. The two 15 ton gas packs to run the gym will require 3 phase power. If we changed to Single phase they would have to split those into 4 units and spend additional funds for ducting and the additional units would be more expensive.
The Duke Engineer met with our electrician and us yesterday and has agreed to submit his request for Duke to build the lines for us to have the 3 phase power.
They will have to set additional poles near the line at the apartments next door and come up the back side of our property to leave our field area open for future building.
Ask The Lord to work on the Duke staff so the timing will work out on this project. If they can do this within a month we should be ready by then for the power. We will obtain temporary power prior to that for construction. Up to now they have used drop cords from our building and a generator and battery powered equipment.
Building Projects face many challenges.
God uses these to teach us many things.

Raising the Walls
This week the gym will really begin to take shape as the steel walls will be raised. All the steel has been delivered and will be put together. Pray for good weather and also safety for those working on the building.
Pastor Parrish shares in a recent email...
The construction company is laying out plans for the steel to begin setting tomorrow (Tuesday) and the 6 Inch water line is going in today with the electrician placing the line for the Sprinkler Fire alarm in it's ditch also. They had to set a vault 7 feet deep that is 5 feet by 7 feet with a back flow valve then the 6 inch pipe and Fire hydrant and each place there is a 90 degree elbow they much back it with concrete so the concrete truck will be here shortly. It is a pretty muddy job right now after the rain we got over the weekend.

CONCRETE!
Pastor Parrish reports...
"The concrete pour began before 5:00am this morning with a crew of 12 workers a pump truck and Thomas Concrete out of Fort Mill dispatching enough trucks to keep a continuous pour going in just 2 hours they were at the final truck at 7:00am. They poured 194 yards of concrete at $100 a yard not counting the cost of the finishers.
They have finished the pour, and are taking loose the bolt pads that the steel will set on and are using two riding finishing machines and will cut the concrete soon to prevent cracking.
They will wait about one week for it to cure before setting steel. Maybe Monday 30th they might begin setting the steel.
The metal part of the building is scheduled to be delivered Wednesday. Some of that maybe here and some at the Construction company in Chester.
Jerry and I had lunch Thursday courtesy of the Bank Manager and the loan officer. They thanked us for our patience and thoroughness with all the paperwork that banks now require for both the lender and the Patriot Act. Our loan is for $250,000 and has no origination fee and the closing cost was just $36 in fees. Mr Honeycutt the lawyer did his part free."

Progress finally

Update
It may look slow but progress is being made. The most important part continues, the foundation. Pastor reports the gym footings are in.
The closing for our loan was this past week with the church only being charged actual cost. The lawyer donated their time! Instead of a lawyer joke lets thank the Lord for this!
